Police donate to 91 year old victim of fraudsters

During July 2018 an elderly female resident became a victim of a Bogus Official crime, where unknown offenders purporting to be working the Gas Board have entered her home and defrauded her of a quantity of cash. Although only a small amount of cash was stolen, this incident had left the female shaken and upset and feeling unsafe in her own home.

Realising the impact this incident had on the 91-year old victim an application was made to The Merseyside Police Federation Charitable Trust for a donation to be considered.

The Trust considers applications made on behalf of individuals residing in the Merseyside area who are victims of crime and/or violence or who have suffered some kind of loss, hardship or distress.

Sergeant Ian Allum & PCSO Marie McCarthy from Southport Community Police Team visited the victim in her home and presented her with a bunch of flowers and shopping vouchers, provided by the trust in acknowledgement of the trauma / upset caused.

Do you really need…

● Your gutters clearing?
● Your roof repairing?
● Your chimney stack pointing?
● Your trees lopping?
● Your driveway jet-washing?

If you do, then use a company recommended by friends or find a reputable company with a proven history of expertise in the task.

Never deal with cold callers as this often ends with low quality workmanship and high bills. Often FAR beyond what is reasonable for the work.
