Police cordon in place after serious assault in Southport
Mereyside police are appealing for information following a reported stabbing in Southport yesterday morning (Friday 29 June 2018).
Officers were called to Zetland Street shortly after 5am to a report of fighting outside an address.
A report was received at 5am today that a group of three males had approached a 23-year-old man, stabbing him to the shoulder. He also sustained facial injuries. The man is being treated in hospital where his condition is described as stable.
House to house enquiries are being carried out and CCTV opportunities explored.
