Emergency services have confirmed a Formby man died after being caught in a house fire.
The male suffered fatal injuries following the blaze at a home on Holmwood Drive.
It happened late in the evening on Tuesday night last week.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: “Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service attended an incident on Holmwood Drive, Formby on the evening of Tuesday 3rd January.
“Crews were alerted at 6.45pm and two fire engines were on scene at 6.52pm. A further three fire engines attended to provide additional breathing apparatus support, taking the total number of appliances to five at the height of the incident.
OTS understands the victim was in his 60s.
