Police chase ends in Rufford Road front Garden, Crossens
A police chase last night ended on Rufford Road Crossens after the driver of a Ford Fiesta lost control and smashed through a front garden wall, Thursday 22 June 2017.
Unconfirmed reports came in shortly after 9.30pm that the male driver was taken to hospital and the two passenger were arrested at the scene.
A witness told our reporter that the police removed false number plates from the vehicle.
A Rufford road resident commented on OTS News Facebook: “My daughter has just cried herself to sleep because of this, she thought it had crashed into our house when she heard the massive bang”
“It’s the second car crash within a week!
“It was awful to watch, the people in the car had to be dragged out!”
Drunk woman crashes through garden wall on Rufford Road Southport
The emergency services were called to Rufford Road in Southport in the early hours of this morning to reports of an RTC (Saturday 17 June 2017).
Police arrived at the scene at around 2.30am to discover 13 reg VW Golf in the garden of a property.
OTS News understands that a woman driving a VW golf lost control crashing into a lamppost before coming to stop in the front garden of a property.
It is understood that the female driver of the vehicle failed a roadside breath test and was arrested at the the scene.
The woman was taken to the Southport’s nearest custody suite at Liverpool police station.
The VW Golf was recovered by FMC and taken a secure compound.
Three men equipped with gun and machete raid Crossens Convenience Store
Armed raiders equipped with a gun and a huge machete have stolen in excess of £200 in a daring dawn raid on a Freshway Convenience Store on Rufford Road, Crossens (Sunday 18 June 2017).
Three men targeted the convenience store just as it was opening up around 7.30 am and threatened workers with a gun and what is reported to be a machete before stealing a handful of cash and cigarettes.
The shop assistant suffered an injury to their face during the incident and has been left badly shaken up by their ordeal. One of the men was wearing a grey North Face hooded top, dark grey shorts and black and white trainers and the second one was wearing a black North Face hooded top, black bottoms and black shoes. Both had green scarves covering their faces and were carrying a green drawstring bag. It is believed they turned left when they exited the shop and then turned right into Brade Street.
Armed police and sniffer dogs have been called to the scene to search for the weapons after the men fled the scene and fled in the direction of Preston New Road. A manhunt is now underway.
