Police called to pub beer garden bust up

Police were called to calm down a tense situation at a Lord Street pub tonight.

Sunbathing drinkers catching the evening rays outside the Sir Henry Seagrave had to call for help after an altercation between a group of men started to get out of hand.

A group of men were involved in a heated disturbance which reportedly became physical according to witnesses.

Two units from Merseyside Police were called just after 7.30pm this evening to the Wetherspoons chain.

Officers attended and spoke to witnesses before removing one male from the scene.

It’s not known if the male was formally detained or released away from the area after being calmed down.
