Police called to close Road after commuter smash

POLICE have responded to an emergency incident following a road traffic collision at an accident hotspot in Southport.

Traffic has been brought to a near standstill around the Upper Aughton Road area of Southport this morning following the accident involving two cars during the early morning rush hour.

Police have been forced to close off the road causing major delays on Cemetery Road following the smash.

Nobody is through to have been seriously injured in the collision near to the junction of both roads and police were only called to help manage traffic following the smash.
