Police arrest person on Chapel Street, Southport

Police have rushed to Chapel Street in Southport this afternoon.

Officers and security guards from nearby shops apprehended a Male who was believed to have shoplifted a number of items from Primark and Pandora on Chapel Street.

Security guards tailed the individual before police officers arrived on scene and arrested the offender.

They have been taken to a Merseyside custody suite where he will now be questioned in relation to the thefts.
