Police arrest four teenagers after fight outside college

Merseyside Police officers carrying out patrols in Southport Town Centre have arrested four  youths following an incident on Wednesday night

A report was received around 7.45pm of a disturbance near to Southport College involving a group of males fighting. Officers attended and four males were detained close by following a foot pursuit.

A 15-year old boy from Orrell Park; a 16-year-old boy from Kirkby; an 18-year-old male from Southport; and a 19-year-old male from Southport were arrested on suspicion of affray and have been taken into custody for questioning. Nobody was reported as being injured.

Local Policing Inspector Graham Fisher said: “We are committed to dealing with anti-social behaviour and disorder in the Town Centre, and have had high-visibility officers in the area to provide reassurance and deal with any incidents.

“Anyone with information on a crime in progress should always call 999, and we will act promptly on all information given.”
