Pipe burst forces pupils out of school

High school Students at a Southport secondary have been evacuated after a major flood.

Pupils at Meols Cop were sent home today after a major pipe burst flooding part of the school and leaving buildings without running or hot water.

One pupil said they heard a loud thud while in class and described teachers panicking as they worked out how to close the school down without issue.

It’s hoped the pipe will be fixed in time for Monday morning lessons.
