Pier safety concerns

Pier walkers have expressed concerns about loose and worsening planks on Southport Pier.

One section of at the far end of the pier had several wobbly planks that rose up after being walked on. Screws are apparently not biting into the pier timber below so what condition is the wood in?

Repairs are clearly required before it gets worse this summer.
