Phone store hangs up business as customers left without their previous handsets

Stunned customers of a mobile phone repair shop day they have no idea what to do after it shut down overnight.

The Friend Mobile store on Eastbank Street has been gutted of all its contents and all fixtures removed overnight without warning to customers.

Some have said they had phones in for repair and were waiting to get them fixed. They have not been contacted and have no idea where their phones are.

There has been no reason given for the closure.

One person said “One of the children in our care home had saved her birthday & pocket money up to get her mobile phone repaired and when we took her to collect it the shop has closed down!

“There was no warning and no contact number displayed for customers to be able to collect their phones!

“The young girl in our care has irreplaceable memories on her phone and is distraught.

“How many other people have lost their phones to this closure! The phone number and web site are shut down!”
