Residents in the town centre say they’re living in the dark ages after a mobile phone mast broke this week.
A cable suffered major damage on Sunday morning and is still seeing issues with providing signal to O2 and Sky Mobile users in the town centre three days later.
A O2 spokesperson said on Wednesday “Engineers remain onsite repairing the extensive cable damage to restore your broadband and talk service.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
While the signal has been partially restored, residents are still facing issues.
”I can’t get a signal to text my daughter,” says Lord Street apartment owner Ally Dove.
“I’m living in the dark ages with this level of service. It’s always bad in town but it’s got a lot worse this week.”
”I’ve asked for compensation but I’ve been told to wait until the problem is fixed.”
