Regulars at the Phoenix are hoping the pub won’t be closed for too long after owners sold the building for around £300,000.
The popular bar and eatery will close down this coming weekend after it was sold to an undisclosed third party.
Pub regulars and staff at the often busy Phoenix are lamenting the closure, with a final send off planned on the 6th and 7th of January.
The pub had survived the Covid pandemic and was recently bustling with customers, directly competing against the Sir Henry Seagrave adjacent to the building.
The Coronation Walk pub becomes the latest to close in the town, after it was revealed last month that Wetherspoons would be shutting the Willow Grove on Lord Street.
