The personal details of around 11 million UK Facebook users have been leaked online.
Details of 533 million Facebook users from around the world were acquired by hackers in 2019 through a security vulnerability that Facebook has since patched.
The leaked details include names, Facebook user accounts, locations, phone numbers and, in some cases, email addresses.
Snippets of the list were published on a hacker forum over this weekend and the full list has been offered for sale.
There is no suggestion passwords have been leaked.
While the leaked data is from 2019, it could still prove to be a valuable tool for scammers and personal identity theft.
The user ID, address and phone number of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg himself appeared in the leaked list.
A spokesman for Facebook told Bloomberg: ““This is old data that was previously reported on in 2019.
“We found and fixed this issue in August 2019.”
Most modern anti-virus scanners include services that monitor data leaks and inform you if your data has been made public. You can also use a service like https://haveibeenpwned.com/
