Person rushed to hospital after being hit by bus on busy shopping street

Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a horrific bus crash in Southport.

A person has been struck and injured by a bus after walking in front of the bus at the junction of Nevill Street and Lord Street.

Paramedics are currently on scene treating the injured individual for serious injuries after they were struck when crossing at the pedestrian junction near to the monument.

The road remains partially closed to traffic and drivers are asked to seek alternative routes home during rush hour.
