Person killed after been struck by last train from Liverpool into Southport

A person is believed to have been killed after being struck by a train near Crosby (Sunday 3 September 2107).

Merseyrail has confirmed on Twitter that a person was struck:  “Due to a person struck by train the last service from Liverpool to Sport has terminated at Crosby, bus is on way from Crosby now to continue journeny”.

Services on the Northern Line will not face disruption as, due to the ongoing RMT Union strike, the affected train was the 6.44pm service – the last train due to head towards Southport on Sunday night.
