Services are now resuming to and from Southport but will be disrupted until the end of service.

Person hit by a train at Freshfield Station
Rail disruption between Southport and Liverpool is likely to last until around 11pm following after a person was hit by a train near to Freshfield station, Friday 2 September.
Train services are now running as far as Formby where a replacement bus service will run to Southport.

A Merseyrail spokesperson said: “There are no trains between Hall Road and Southport.
“ A replacement bus service is being arranged, but no time has been given for when this service will begin running.”
