A Southport pensioner broke her nose in two places and requires surgery after she tripped over ‘dangerous’ concrete bases on a controversial cycle lane.
OTS reported last week how the council have installed what they called more permanent infrastructure on the Hoghton Street cycle lane which included heavy concrete dividers.
But just days later an elderly woman tripped over the dividers, which her son in law has said are incredibly dangerous, causing her to break her nose in two places.
The extent of her injuries have been shared online and the council have said her family are welcome to make an insurance claim.
Speaking to OTS News Sefton said “Our sympathies go out to this lady and her family. We will be investigating the matter further.”
