A Pensioner crashed into Traffic refuge island only minutes before Kew Woods Primary school was about leave for home.
The emergency services were called to Ovington Drive shortly after 2.20pm today following a report of an RTC, Friday February 5 2016.
Police arrived within minutes to find a Toyota lodged up on the traffic refuge island. It would appear that the driver did not see it coming.
The diver appeared not to injured and fortunately no one was on the traffic refuge island at the time.
A witness said: “I heard an almighty smash, looked up to see the car blocking the carriageway, it’s a good job this didn’t happen a few minutes later otherwise it could have ended in tragedy”.
Police officers made area safe and diverted traffic around the scene whilst waiting for the car to be recovered.
