The handsome and wonderfully playful Peanut is still looking for his purfect family and the team from Woodlands Animal Sanctuary are desperate for him to find his loving forever home before they have to celebrate his one-year anniversary of being with them!
Peanut, who along with his exuberant personality, sensitive digestive system & overtly playful nature is also suffering from the black cat curse! Black cats, will often spend considerably more time in a shelter or rescue than other colours of cats. He doesn’t know what colour he is, and at 18months old, he is desperate for a home he can call his own, where he is accepted for who he is, is given boundaries he can tolerate and can feel safe and grow in to a well-rounded adult cat.
Peanut needs a home with no other pets and no children. Woodlands are very clear about this. Given that though, he is certainly a big enough character that you will not notice a lack of other pets in your home!
The loving team have stabilised his upset tummy with medication and diet, which he will need to continue with indefinitely. Woodlands, will however, cover the costs of these, for the rest of his life, so that his new family need only cover the costs usually associated with a feline friend. Peanut is of course, up to date with his vaccinations, worming and flea treatments, is microchipped & neutered and the team want him to have a home where he can safely go outside and behave like the true cat he is, before coming back home to cuddle up onto a loving lap or a mutually consenting play date.
If you think you could be the purfect home for Peanut, then please visit Woodland’s website; www.woodlandsanimalsanctuary.org.uk/rehoming/cats/ to read about their rehoming procedure, Peanut himself and to fill out the application form.
In order for this animal rescue to be the sanctuary so many other cats so desperately need, they need to be able to rehome the cats they have. Peanut has been with them for nearly 9 months and in that time other cats have had to be turned away due to a lack of space. If you really feel you could be who Peanut is looking for – it won’t only be him you’re saving, but the next cat who gets sanctuary in his pen. Now that really is two for the price of one!
If you are more of a dog person though, don’t despair – you can still support Woodlands and spend quality time with your pooch, by joining them for their fun Dog Show, on Saturday 3rd July, at Thomspon House Farm, Standish. Judging starts promptly at 1:30pm. Entries are taken on the day. Full details of all 12 classes running that day can be found on the charity’s social media platforms.
