A patchwork quilt of bizarre tarmac stains have taken over the pavement along Lord Street.
Controversial Road resurfacing works, which have already seen bus stops shattered and bollards run over, has now left the pavement on South side of Lord Street strewn with chunks of ugly black tar, as seen in photos sent in to OTS News this afternoon.
The road contractors Dowhigh and Sefton have kept as quiet as they can during the controversial scheme, desperate to avoid now negative coverage after OTS revealed the iconic red tarmac would be ripped up and never to be replaced.
OTS understands the black tar on the pavement may well be a temporary fix while Dowhigh wait for replacement paving.
How long that temporary fix stays there, remains to be seen.
