Merseyside Police are pleased to announce that our partnership with Home Instead Senior Care’s scam awareness campaign, which is featured in the link below, has been recognised with a “Highly Commended” win for Merseyside Police (Southport) at the 2019 Government Counter Fraud Awards. Recognition was in the “Excellence in Raising Fraud Awareness” category.
Pictured here with Home Instead’s Michaela Navis – Networking & Community Events Coordinator, are PCSO Michelle Newman & Constable Paul Greenwood from the Southport Local Policing Team.
Michaela added, “It’s an absolute pleasure to be able to educate older people in the community to be more aware of such a serious topic and to give them confidence to recognise when something just doesn’t feel right. Being recognised nationally above other campaigns is the cherry on the cake.”
Paul Greenwood, Community Police Officer at Merseyside Police Southport said, “From our point of view these sessions get the thumbs up. Fraud has been on the increase and it certainly needs more awareness for older people. These presentations by Home Instead carry the same messages we have been issuing and we look forward to continuing the partnership.”
