Parents put the heat on Birkdale High to relax uniform rules

Bosses at a top Southport school are under fire for forcing their students to wear scorching hot blazers in the warm weather.

Birkdale High have yet again enforced their policy of making sure all boys wear blazers and ties, even when temperatures soar into the high twenties.

Parent Wayne Ashton told OTS “Birkdale high school forcing students to wear blazer and ties to and from school during this exceptionally hot weather is totally irresponsible they emailed parents today, I have never heard something more stupid in my life the senior staff need to think about what they are doing if a student ends up fainting on the way home on a busy road due to the heat they will be responsible, as a parent with a son at the school being told that they will be sanctioned if they don’t conform will not be happy, if anything if the school relaxed the uniform rule during the hot weather I would applaud their common sense and the fact that they were looking out for the students welfare”
