Paramedics overwhelmed by clapping neighbours

Emotional paramedics in Southport have openly shed a tear after hearing the town wide applause for the NHS.

Hundreds of people turned out to clap and cheer for paramedics doctors and nurses across the resort.

One paramedic said they were so touched by the gesture after becoming overwhelmed with the noise of clapping.

They said “I was overwhelmed by the applause and clapping that occurred in my street at 8pm this evening.

“I didn’t expect it at all, but nearly every house near me, opened its door and whole families stood there clapping. I’m so grateful, as are my colleagues. Thank you everyone, it means such a lot”
