7th December 2017

A dog walker has discovered palm oil washed up at RSPB Marshside.

Graham Sarson was walking his dog near to the reserve at Marshside when he came across the boulder sized oil.

He said “I was walking my dog on Southport beach this morning and cam across a large object that looked similar to the deposits of Palm Oil spotted on the beaches recently in parts of Birkdale and Aindsale

“The object was spotted about 400 yds off the shore line opposite Hesketh Road, near the Marshside RSPB signs. It was in line with the orange buoy that is situated at the junction of Marine Drive and Hesketh Road”
