Two men have been arrested in Southport after police saw a small package of suspected Class A drugs tossed from a car in the town centre.
The arrests were made after police discovered a car showing no insurance driving through the town.
As the car was followed by officers, police say they saw a small package thrown from the passenger window.
The car was stopped and one of our PCSO’s soon found the discarded package, which contained a number of small wraps of suspected class ‘A’ drugs.
During a search of the car, a large amount of cash was also found and seized.
The men were both arrested and taken to custody and searches of their properties were carried out.
These arrests follow those of two other men arrested for drug offences by Operation Pelican Officers on duty in Southport earlier in the week. Investigations continue.
In addition to this, Local Policing Team Officers assisted Response Officers with the arrest of a man on suspicion of drink driving and also conducted patrols through the town centre and seafront areas, to disrupt and disperse groups young people responsible for anti-social behaviour.
During the course of this another bike was recovered, which has been booked into our property store to be checked against recent stolen bikes.
Officers from Sefton Targeted Team have continued patrols overnight on Sunday in Southport in response to recent thefts and attempted thefts from motor vehicles.
