More than a hundred ‘missing’ cases of positive coronavirus has been left out of Sefton’s total, with many of them potentially in the Southport area.
128 cases of confirmed coronavirus have now been added to Sefton’s figures, pushing the lockdown struck Borough even further into a dire position.
It comes as the NHS Test and Trace App warned that the PR8 and PR9 postcode is considered to be a significantly high risk area, while yet more businesses were forced to temporarily close down after customers tested positive.
The additional 128 cases stems from the discovery of thousands of “missing” coronavirus test results by Public Health England, meaning Merseyside as a whole is in a much worse position than health chiefs previously assumed.
