Over £6000 was raised on our inaugural Charity Golf Day at Hillside Golf Club
We would like to say a huge “Thank You” to everyone who took part in our inaugural Charity Golf Day at Hillside Golf Club last week (Thursday 7th April 2016) – to say it was a success is an understatement!
Our target was to hopefully achieve £4000, which is the cost of delivering one of our FREE heart screenings. We are delighted to announce that we have raised just over £6000! This figure looks set to rise as Neil Hanmer from Barclays Bank has very kindly offered to matchfund up to a figure of £1000. Paul Hughes from I-Paye, who has been extremely supportive already by sponsoring two tees on the day, has donated another £1600 – absolutely outstanding! In total, we will have raised just over £8500! This means we have enough to deliver TWO FREE heart screenings! Thank you so much to everyone!
The day itself was a huge success – even though in the days running up to it we did think we would be rained off or blown off course due to the weather! It actually turned out to be a breezy but bright day, with lots of bursts of beautiful sunshine!
Everyone was a winner for me but this is how the prizes went:
1st Prize – Chris Kendall, Wayne Jones, Dave Northcote and Carl Pemberton.
2nd Prize – John Evans, Alan Turner, Simon O’Neill and John Rawley
The Longest Drive – Rob Gordon from Team Veolia
The Ladies Longest Drive – Susan Callaghan
Nearest the Pin – Chris Johnson from Smith and Sons
Beat the Pro – Alan Delaney
The evening went down a storm with Jed Stone – our compere and comedian. What a funny guy! Neil Hanmer from Barclays presented the prizes to our worthy winners before the auction got underway. A huge thank you to everyone who bid on our auction items – there were some great items and they went to very generous people.
We would like to thank everyone again for making our very first Charity Golf Day a phenomenal success and we hope to see you again next year!
Thank you for supporting us!
