North west affordable homes provider Onward Living, part of Onward, has launched a new initiative to help key workers get a foot on the property ladder at their Willow Green development in Scarisbrick, West Lancashire.
As part of their new ‘Key to the Door’ campaign, all those identified by the government as being an essential frontline worker will be entitled to £500 towards their legal fees when purchasing a new home for Shared Ownership.
The discount is available to all those working in health and social care, including support workers and anyone working in the supply chain. The scheme is also open to all education and childcare professionals; those providing key public services; all staff working in food production, processing, distribution, sale and delivery; public safety and national security personnel; transport workers; and those providing essential utilities, communication and financial services.
Sandy Kelly, head of sales at Onward Living, said: “We wanted to offer a helping hand to those who have been helping us – the key workers who are providing a vital service to the nation during the Coronavirus pandemic. The ‘Key to the Door’ initiative is our way of expressing gratitude for the incredible efforts of those on the frontline.
“Shared Ownership is a great option for key workers who are looking to get onto the properly ladder, whether they are first-time buyers currently renting or families looking for a more suitable home in a more convenient location. We hope that this incentive will go even further towards helping our heroes secure their dream home.”
The £500 contribution can be used across all Onward Living’s live developments in the north west, which currently includes homes in Prenton and Great Sutton on the Wirral, and Scarisbrick in West Lancashire.
