Firefighters attended Ainsdale Pinewoods on Saturday 23rd May after reports of a large fire.
Crews were called to the woodland shortly before 9am. Two fire engines attended.
On arrival crews found a fire involving pine trees and shrubs, approximately 100m x 50m. The fire was deep seated and wind driven
Firefighters used low pressure hose reel jets, beaters and pack gliders to extinguish the fire.
Crews worked closely with local rangers to dig a fire break trench around the affected area.
Firefighters left the scene at 12.22pm.
