Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has let slip the truth which Southport residents have long suspected.
On Saturday, in Derby Park, Bootle, hundreds of people heard Mr Corbyn describing the home of Sefton’s Bootle bosses as ‘Liverpool’.
He said: “Today we’re in Liverpool campaigning for the Liverpool elections. . .”
“Liverpool is a most amazing city – you all know that. You know the way they’ve stood up against adversity, the way they’ve always sought a community solution to collective problems, never an individual solution climbing on the back of someone else.
“That is surely that great tradition of Liverpool, the strength of trade unions, the strength of the Labour movement and that whole argument about how we go forward in society.”
Sefton’s Bootle bosses are among the very few in Labour who have supported much-criticised Liverpool Mayor Joe Anderson who is now being challenged wthin his own Party.
