Jonathan Cunningham MBE, Registered Care Manager of Birkdale Park Nursing Home, has his ex-army sights lined up to establish the largest and most influential regional forum for care homes in UK. Named the ‘North & South Sefton Care Home Group’ its inaugural FREE to attend meeting will be held on Wednesday 15th May between 2-4 pm at West Lancashire Yacht Club, Southport, PR8 1RY.
The event is open to all Sefton based care home managers and owners who wish to be part of something new and exciting.
Jonathan said, ‘Southport and specifically Sefton, has the largest concentration of care homes in the UK. Yet regrettably we are not effectively represented, with so many issues affecting social care we need a collective, powerful voice of representation. It is therefore hoped that the North & South Sefton Care Home Group will provide such a voice across Sefton.’
The North & South Sefton Care Home Group will aim to work in collaborative partnership with local CCGs, GP consortiums, Hospital Trusts, Local Authority commissioning and Social Services. The group will operate on a membership basis and work to serve its members and their voice in social care. Overall it intends to improve the quality of care to those most vulnerable in our society within a commercially sustainable and viable social care sector.
Jonathan Cunningham MBE is a prolific UK speaker on the delivery of outstanding care across the social care sector. He is passionate about ensuring that the elderly receive quality care within a dignified yet fun filled environment. He proclaims that in a world where more money is not available that just maybe passionate and inspirational care leadership is the ‘silver bullet’ we have all been seeking!
