We have received reports of items that have been stolen in sneak thefts from porches in Trafalgar Road in Southport. A child’s scooter, parcels that have been delivered and even a Bluetooth doorbell have been stolen recently. Residents have said that other items have gone missing from porches in this area of the last month, but have not been reported.

To avoid becoming victims of this type of sneak theft, always close and lock porch doors where possible. In addition to helping with this issue, locking outer doors is good practice to reduce issues with cold callers to your address, so that you can speak to them through the glass of a locked door.

Southport based officers dedicated to Birkdale ward are aware of the issues so that that the area can be included in foot patrols.
