Security of Bicycles
In the past few weeks there has been a slight increase in the number of bicycles stolen. Chains are being cut off whilst the owners are in shops, restaurants or at school. It is advisable to invest in a good quality lock such as a D lock that cannot be cut off by a bolt cutter. Cycles are also being left insecure and stolen from gardens of houses and from outbuildings that are not sufficiently secured.
Thieves are driving around, identifying prestige cars and then coming back for them overnight. We should recommend ‘low tech’ ways to immobilize elite cars such as wheel clamps or steering wheel locks, as well as the more expensive ways like trackers etc.
