New Vicar for Southport

9th July 2019

All are welcome to attend the Institution and Installation of 31-year-old Revd Dr Thomas Carpenter, the new Vicar of Holy Trinity Church and Priest in Charge of All Saints Southport.

The special service, to be attended by Sefton Mayor Cllr June Burns, is on Wednesday 17 July at Holy Trinity from 7.30pm and will be led by the Bishop of Liverpool, Rt Revd Paul Bayes.

Thomas Carpenter told OTS News:
“I’m thrilled to be coming to Southport. I am very optimistic about the future of the churches I’ll be working in, and for the future of the town. Everyone I’ve met has been hugely welcoming to me, my new wife, Judith, and my dog, Buster. I look forward to meeting many more sandgrounders in the weeks and months ahead.”

Church Council Member Bob Ball said, “Holy Trinity has been without a minister since the retirement of Revd Canon Dr Rod Garner eighteen months ago and we are greatly looking forward to the arrival of Father Tom as our new vicar.  These are exciting times at Trinity.”

Exciting times for the new vicar too. He just got married last month, to Judith.
