A plane carrying a message targeting the European Union and Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been flying over Southport today (Sunday).
In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the issue of the UK’s exit from the European Union has barely been mentioned, despite there now being less than a year for the two sides to agree a trade deal.
But the issue has not escaped the mind of ‘Roger’, the man who seems to be behind the banner.
It reads: “Boris EU will screw you – Fact! – Roger”.
The banner has also been spotted around the North West.
Following Brexit day on January 31, the EU and UK managed only one round of talks before coronavirus took hold in Europe.
The two sides have agreed to resume post-Brexit talks next week, where they will conduct talks on trade and fishing rights over video link.
The UK is currently in a transition period where it still operates by EU rules.
If no deal is struck by December, the UK and EU would revert to World Trading Organisation (WTO) terms.
The government has denied any notion the deadline should be extended due to disruption caused by the coronavirus crisis.
