Lancashire County Council and Sefton Council have both been slammed after reportedly excluding a special needs child from school.
A Southport mum who does not want to be named said her young boy with autism has been left in limbo while trying to get him into a West Lancashire school but blames Sefton Council for the problem.
She said “He’s been excluded now for 5 days. He has complex needs including Autism and a rare chromosome deletion.
Advice and help from Sefton is limited and his school is based Lancashire. The cross over of services has meant delays in help. My child attended the nursery and did very well. In reception the cross border of who should provide what service started to become a problem. From Education Psychologist advice to Pshyio, who refused to go into school.
“The school made it clear months ago that they could not continue to meet my child’s needs and provided my child with the support they could. Despite this there is still a constant battle for help.”
