A furious parent fined for taking her two young boys out of school for a term time holiday says she’s been cheated by the school.
Ashleigh Cropper was verbally told by a teacher at St John’s C of E that she could take her two young sons out of school for the holiday of a lifetime, only to return home to a letter from the headteacher saying she would be fined.
Headteacher Phil Thomson said the holiday damaged the kids learning and he warned Mrs Cropper not to do it again under any circumstances.
Ashleigh told OTS News “I was verbally told by a member of staff when I put in the request that I wouldn’t be fined when I did it.”
“The heads sent the letter to me by his receptionist rather by himself and I want him to know how damaging this is.”
“This was supposed to be the holiday of a lifetime for our family and the school have ruined it.”
