Southport MP Damien Moore is to hold a public meeting to share concerns over Sefton Council’s cycle lane schemes.
Mr Moore has remained vocally opposed to proposed cycle lane schemes in Southport, supported by his Conservative councillor colleagues.
The meeting will be held on Saturday 20 August at Holy Trinity on Hoghton Street, 1pm to 2.30pm.
The session will be open to all “who want to see the town centre cycle lanes and bollards removed.”
Damien Moore said: “In Autumn, Sefton Council is due to decide whether to keep, scrap, or amend the ‘temporary’ scheme introduced in 2020, which replaced vital on-street parking along Hoghton Street and closed off Queens Road to passing traffic.
“If you share my concerns with the town centre cycle lanes, the Liveable Neighbourhood Scheme, and the plans to extend the lanes across the town, please come to the meeting next Saturday. No prior booking is required – simply show up on the day.
“Please share these meeting details with friends, family, and neighbours who may be interested. I look forward to welcoming you next Saturday!”
