MP patrols Southport’s streets with local police

Although the recent rise in crime across Merseyside is below the national average, MP Damien Moore remains vigilant about it in Southport. On Friday, he patrolled the streets with the Neighbourhood Policing Team.

‘During my shift with PC Laura, we talked about the challenges of her job. We all know our police do great work in a difficult environment, but I wanted to see the things they face for myself.’

In February, Damien persuaded Merseyside Police to introduce ‘knife wands’ across the town.

‘We need to be vigilant on crime if we are going to make Southport a success again.’
