Motorists warned as Nevill Street lights fail

Traffic chaos has struck Southport this morning after the Nevill Street junction failed.

All traffic lights at the dangerously busy junction have failed this morning and traffic from all directions are approaching at speed.

One shop owner opening up his cafe this morning said he witnesses three near misses in a short space of time.

He said: “The lights are dangerous at that junction anyway and there’s always a crash so this will be even worse if something happens now. The council need to sort this out and fast before someone is killed.”
