Commuters in Southport are facing motoring misery again after another stretch of coast road was shut, a closure set to last for three months.
Works have been planned on the Marshside stretch of the coastal road in Southport for a number of weeks, with contractors closing off the road this morning between Marshside Road and Hesketh Drive.
The works have been planned in order to reconstruct both the carriageway and footpath to improve the road surface while also installing a new drainage system to combat flooding.
Motorists are being redirected via Marshside Road, Fleetwood Road and Hesketh Road while the works are carried out.
