Minor injuries in Queens Road RTC between bus and cyclist

14th July 2021

A bus and cyclist were involved in an RTC this morning on Queens Road.

Police confirmed that they were called around 8.20am to reports of a collision involving bus and cyclist.

The cyclist was a 15-year-old boy who received minor injuries and was taken to hospital as precaution.

Queens Road reopened around 9.25am.

The road was turned into a “pop-up” cycle lane in September last year, preventing access to cars from the junction of Manchester Road. It is not known whether the presence of cycle lanes played any role in the incident.

Officials from Merseyside Police indicated to OTS News that the incident would be raised with the Merseyside Road Safety Partnership, a collaboration of Merseyside Police, Local Authorities, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, and Merseytravel.

Sefton Council has also been approached for comment.
