A group of youths have broke into Botanic Gardens and mindlessly murdered newborn ducklings.
Police are investigating after a group of yobs entered the churchtown park on Thursday night and killed a number of ducklings
A spokesperson for Botanic Gardens said: “Sadly a group of youths thought it was fun and were responsible for killing a few ducklings on Thursday night.
” Should you see anybody misbehaving, being cruel, committing any form of violence or vandalism then will you please ring Sefton Arc. ( Security) 01519226107 or PCSO’s ( non emergency police) 101. And of course for emergencies only 999.
” Should you be so unfortunate to witness any crime, if you have a mobile phone then it helps to take photos to be used as evidence.”
A spokesperson for the RSPCA added: “This sounds like a very upsetting and distressing incident.
“We urge anyone who has any information to contact Merseyside police on 101, or the RSPCA’s 24-hour cruelty helpline on 0300 1234 999.”
A bus shelter directly outside the park was also vandalised the next day and the enitre glass panelling was smashed in – however it is not known if the two incidents were caused by the same individuals.
