Trevor Ford, Breakfast Show host on local community radio station Mighty Radio 107.9FM and his lovely fiancée Jackie took the plunge a few months ago and booked their wedding ceremony at Southport Town Hall.
At the time of booking they were advised that only six people including themselves, the official and a photographer would be allowed in the venue on their big day.
Ever the optimist, Trevor remained positive that things would improve and booked a reception venue for 30 people.
Trevor said “we thought, it will be alright, as you do! You have to have hope and remain positive in these uncertain times. We went ahead and booked the venue for the reception and then came the announcement that gatherings would be paused and we thought, OH NO!”
With the recent easing of restrictions for theatres, casinos and other entertainment establishments comes a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, but as the big day in October edges closer Trevor has been putting together a plan B!
Trevor’s nephew, former Southport FC player Andrew Wright emigrated to the USA, recently tied the knot himself and used the power of online video conferencing to allow all his friends and family all over the world to join their celebrations.
This has inspired Trevor and Jackie to do a similar thing to ensure nobody misses out on their special day. People can still get dressed up join them in celebrating form the safety of their own front rooms.
