Merseyside residents are being invited to find out more about careers in Sefton’s care sector at an upcoming event in Southport.
New Directions, the borough’s leading adult social care provider, is staging a jobs fair at Southport Community Centre on Norwood Road in the town from 9.30am until 1pm on Friday 3rd May.
Staff from the organisation will be on hand to brief guests on the wide range of services operated by its 500-strong team for people across Sefton with support needs, and the career opportunities available with them.
They will also provide details of a number of specific full and part-time positions that New Directions is looking to fill immediately in one of its key services – Reablement.
Reablement team members support patients throughout Sefton who have been discharged from hospital, or people who have had an illness, fall or other crisis at home.
The aim is to help them regain their life skills and confidence, and to maintain their independence, thus reducing pressure on hospital beds.
Commenting on the jobs fair New Directions HR Manager, Adam Drury, said: “We’re actively looking to recruit new staff at this event in Southport so we’re hoping for a very good turnout on the day.
“It’s an ideal opportunity for people to develop a career in social care, and at the same to make a real difference to vulnerable members of the local community.”
Anyone unable to attend the Southport Community Centre event can learn more about the opportunities on offer by ringing New Directions on 0151 705 0300 or by visiting www.ndirections.co.uk.
