Merseyside Police Officer Recruitment Campaign 2017

30th December 2016

Merseyside Police Officer Recruitment Campaign 2017

Merseyside Police are opening recruitment lines for regular Police Officers in early January 2017 – in order to prepare potential candidates for this, the Positive Action Recruitment Team (PART) are holding a series of workshops offering Positive Action Support to candidates through-out the process.

The first workshops which are being held in December, will provide attendees with information about the role of a Police officer and give guidance on preparing and completing their application forms.

The Equality Act states that positive action can be used to address under-representation. Merseyside Police have chosen to utilise positive action provisions to assist our workforce to become more diverse and representative of the society in which we police. As a result of this our Positive Action Recruitment Team is running a series of workshops intended to provide an overview of the Police Officer Recruitment Process.

These workshops are aimed to attract, and offer support to, candidates from all underrepresented groups within Merseyside Police, in particular:-

  • Ethnic Minority Groups – Asian, Black, Chinese, Polish etc.
  • Minority Religious groups – Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhism etc.
  • Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual (Sexual Orientation)
  • Transgender. Intersex ( Gender Identity)

If you are eligible for Positive Action Support, we would like to invite you to attend one of our workshops, please register your interest by emailing

Positive.Action.Team@merseyside.pnn.police.uk

In the meantime if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the team on Ext 8972 or 8553.

We very much look forward to working with you in the coming months.
