Merseyside Police launch week two of ‘Operation Hunted’
Merseyside Police is again appealing for the public’s help in tracing a number of wanted individuals as part of ‘Operation Hunted’.
After a successful first week resulting in 242 wanted people arrested, ‘Operation Hunted’ commences its second week today (Monday, 22 July) and we have issued images of a number of individuals we are pursuing.
Members of the public can continue to follow the progress of the force-wide operation by using the hashtag #OpHunted on social media and anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of any wanted individuals is urged to get in touch.
Chief Superintended Rob Carden said: “After a very successful first week of Operation Hunted we are maintaining the pressure on named fugitives and this second week will see another huge push in locating them.
“A concerted effort by teams from across the force has resulted in 242 arrests so far and we are determined to keep growing this number as Op Hunted continues. I would like to assure you that if you are wanted, we are coming for you and you will be brought into custody and either put before the courts or put back in prison.”
Some of the individuals we are pursuing include:
Shaun Walmsley, aged 29 from Walton – Wanted after he escaped lawful custody on February, 21 2017 whilst attending an appointment Aintree Hospital. Walmsley was serving a life sentence for the murder of Anthony Duffy.
John Morrison, aged 49 from Wavertree – Wanted in connection with a burglary in Liverpool on Thursday, 20 July 2017.
Jason Curry, aged 23 from Huyton – Wanted in connection with the murder of Yusuf Sonko, who was shot dead in Toxteth on Friday, 2 June 2017.
Anthony Stanley, aged 30 from Woodchurch – Wanted in connection with making threats to kill and for breach of a harassment order.
John Higginson, aged 54 from New Brighton – Wanted in connection with a theft in Pensby on Wednesday, 21 June 2017 and a robbery in Birkdale on Friday, 29 September 2017.
Anthony Reilly, aged 21 from Prescot – Wanted in connection with making threats to kill.
Christopher Noon, aged 25 from Prescot –Wanted in connection with a section 18 assault in Haydock on Saturday, 10 February 2018.
Christopher Robins, aged 35 from Wavertree – Wanted in connection with an aggravated burglary in Liverpool in early June 2018.
Jamie Wainwright, aged 25 from Haydock – Wanted in connection with a section 47 assault which occurred in Haydock on Tuesday, 23 January 2018.
David Ungi, aged 26 from Allerton – Wanted in connection with the murder of Vincent Waddington, who was shot dead in Garston on Wednesday, 15 July 2015.
