Services are slowly returning to normal after the entire network was closed due to adverse weather conditions.
Ice and snow overnight in Merseyside prevented Merseyrail from running any of their early services.
Service is slowly returning to normal however passengers are advised to check before travel.
National Rail had initially said that disruption could continue to midday, but good service is starting to resume on the network.
National Rail says: “Trains are now able to run as normal on the Merseyrail network following forecasted poor weather conditions overnight.”
Merseyrail said: “Following earlier poor weather conditions, services are now able to resume across the network. The services listed below will now run as scheduled:
Ormskirk – L/Pool
Kirkby – L/Pool
New Brighton – L/Pool
Southport – L/Pool
West Kirby – L/Pool”
