A broken down train is causing havoc on the Merseyrail Network this afternoon.
While services are now returning to normal, trains from Southport have been cancelled throughout the morning. Normal service is expected to return this afternoon.
The train, which broke down near Liverpool Central, has caused mass disruption throughout the network.
A points failure on the Wirral line has also added to the problems.
15-minute service has now been resumed on the network, and Merseyrail’s new £500m fleet of trains is likely to come into service this year.
